# Documents Tab

> File uploads attached to a Journey — overview only; deep dive in the Admin, Settings & Cross-Cutting section.

The **Documents** tab is the file room for a Journey. Every PDF, image, intake form, signed contract, and uploaded record lives here — searchable, categorized, and tied permanently to this case.

## What you can do

* **Drag and drop** files (or click to browse) to upload
* **Categorize** uploads (medical record, intake form, signed contract, photo, correspondence, etc.)
* **Tag** files for search
* **Preview** PDFs and images inline without downloading
* **Download** original files
* **Delete** (firm admin only, with retention rules)

Files uploaded here also appear (where appropriate) on the [Medical tab](/case-management/journey-tabs/medical) when categorized as medical records, and on the [Disbursement tab](/legal-workflow/disbursement-statement) when generated as part of closeout.

## Folders and organization

Documents can be grouped into firm-defined folders (e.g., Intake, Medical Records, Pleadings, Demand, Settlement). Your firm admin sets the folder structure once; every Journey uses the same scheme so anyone on the team knows where to look.
