The first time you sign in, the dashboard can feel busy — there’s a lot here because HoLaCe replaces a lot of disconnected tools. This tour groups things by what you’re trying to accomplish, not by what every button does. Use it as your map for the first week. The three regions

HoLaCe is divided into three persistent regions:
  1. Left sidebar — primary navigation. This is where you jump between features.
  2. Top bar — global search, your account menu, the bug report button, and changelog/version indicator.
  3. Main area — whatever you’re currently working on (a list, a journey, a form, a report).
The sidebar collapses if you need more horizontal room — useful when you’re working in wide tables like the medical bills view.

I want to see my open cases

Click Pipeline in the sidebar. The Pipeline view is the heart of HoLaCe — it shows every active client journey across the four Avenues (Prospect, Pre-Litigation, Litigation, DNQ). You can filter by assignee, by stage, or by tag. [Screenshot: Pipeline view with Avenues across the top and journey cards beneath] If you want to drill into one specific case, click any journey card to open its Journey Detail page. That’s where day-to-day case work happens — notes, documents, medical records, tasks, demand letters, and the activity log all live there.

I want to work on a specific client

Open Journeys in the sidebar (or click directly from the Pipeline). Each journey is a single client matter from intake through closeout. From the journey detail page you can:
  • Advance to the next Stage by completing Steps (or auto-advance fires when conditions are met)
  • Add documents, medical records, or expenses
  • Trigger a Demand Letter from the gathered evidence
  • Spin up a Service Instance (e.g. an investigation) that runs in parallel with your main avenue progress
  • Read the activity feed — what changed, who changed it, and when

I want to see what’s on my plate today

Click Tasks in the sidebar. The task list filters to your assignments by default and shows due dates, blockers, and journey context. You can drag to reorder priorities, mark complete inline, and reassign with one click. The My Day widget on the main dashboard surfaces today’s tasks plus any auto-generated reminders (statute of limitations approaching, pending medical records, demand letter awaiting review).

I want to send a demand letter

Open the journey, then Demand Letters in its inner nav. HoLaCe pulls together the medical records, damages, and case narrative into a draft. You review, edit, and approve before it leaves the system. The negotiation log captures every adjuster offer/response from there forward. See the Medical, Damages & Settlement section for the full demand-letter workflow. I want to manage firm-wide settings

If you’re a FIRM_ADMIN or SUPER_ADMIN, the sidebar has an Admin entry. From there you manage users, roles, billing, branding, and integration settings. Most attorneys and paralegals never need to visit Admin. See Admin, Settings & Cross-Cutting for details.

I just want to log a bug

The Bug Report button is in the sidebar footer (and also pinned in the top bar). Click it, describe what happened, optionally attach a screenshot, and submit. Beta-testing firms route directly to the HoLaCe team — we usually respond same day.

What’s next

Once you’re comfortable here, read the Roles page so you know what each member of your firm can do, then skim the Glossary so the rest of the docs make sense.
