The document sections on the Litigation tab are HoLaCe’s plaintiff-side litigation work-product generators. Six sections, nine document types, one consistent state machine, and a flat per-document fee that’s locked at generate time. The six sections

Discovery

Interrogatories, Requests for Production (RFP), Requests for Admission (RFA), and Deposition Written Questions (DWQ).

Affidavits

One Affidavit of Medical Records per provider — the list is read directly from the Medical tab.

Expert Designation

Designation packet built from CV + report files in the journey’s Expert Files folder.

Depositions

Deposition Summaries — one per transcript uploaded.

Mediation Packet

A complete mediation submission pulling damages, chronology, and prior offers.

Trial Binder

Trial binder + Bates-stamped exhibit set.

The state machine

Every document row, regardless of type, follows the same four-state lifecycle:
StatusWhat it means
Not GeneratedPlaceholder row — the document type exists in the spec but hasn’t been generated yet. No charge.
GeneratingGeneration is in flight. Briefly visible during the AI run.
DraftAI has produced a first pass. Not yet attorney-reviewed.
Needs ReviewThe default landing status after generation. An attorney must read every word before this advances.
ApprovedAn attorney has reviewed and signed off. Safe to use.
Served(Discovery, Affidavits) — Document has been served on opposing counsel.
Filed(When applicable) — Document has been filed with the court.
VoidedWithdrawn or replaced. The row is preserved for audit but excluded from totals.

No AI-generated litigation document leaves HoLaCe without attorney sign-off. The Approved status is the gate. The right-rail Attorney Review notice on the Litigation tab is a permanent reminder of this rule — it isn’t decoration.

Generating a document

1

Click Generate on a Not-Generated row

The Cost Estimate modal opens with the flat fee, the page-count estimate, the overage-per-page rate, and a “$0 due today, collected at disbursement” line. The fee is firm-configurable — see the note at the end of this page.
2

Confirm

The modal closes immediately and the row flips to Generating while the AI runs. You can leave the page; the work continues in the background.
3

Status flips to Needs Review

HoLaCe pings you when generation finishes. Open the document, read it end to end, and decide: Approve, edit and re-approve, or void.
4

Move to Approved → Served / Filed

Click through the status pills as the document moves through your firm’s workflow.

Discovery

The Discovery section holds the four standard plaintiff-side request sets:
  • Interrogatories — written questions the defense must answer under oath
  • RFP — Requests for Production — categories of documents the defense must produce
  • RFA — Requests for Admission — yes/no facts the defense must admit or deny
  • DWQ — Deposition Written Questions — written-deposition questions
Each row gets one Generate button. After generation, you can re-generate any row (a new Cost Estimate fires) if the first pass needs a second take.

Affidavits of Medical Records

The Affidavits section is unique: it reads the provider list directly from the Medical tab. One row per provider — no manual entry. If you add a provider on the Medical tab, a new affidavit placeholder appears here automatically. A Generate All button at the section header fires the cost modal in batch mode and produces an affidavit for every placeholder in one go. Expert Designation — preflight gate

The Expert Designation generate button is disabled until the journey’s Expert Files folder contains at least one file. That folder lives in the journey’s Documents tab. Until the gate is satisfied, you’ll see an amber banner with a deep link straight to the Expert Files folder so you can upload the CV and the report. Once one file is in there, the button enables — generate, review, approve, file with the court. Depositions, Mediation Packet, Trial Binder

These three follow the same pattern as Discovery — click Generate, confirm the cost, review the AI output, approve. Special notes:
  • Depo Summary — one row per uploaded transcript. The AI flags key admissions, inconsistencies, and page:line citations.
  • Mediation Packet — pulls damages totals, chronology, prior offer history into a single client-ready submission.
  • Trial Binder — produces a Bates-stamped exhibit set plus a master exhibit list. The biggest single document; expect a longer generation time.

Pricing

Every document type has a flat fee plus an overage-per-page above a per-type page threshold. The fee shown in the Cost Estimate modal is the fee that’s billed — locked at the moment you confirm. You can see the running total across all generated documents in the Document Expenses card on the right sidebar.
Per-document pricing comes from your firm’s FirmPricingConfig. Beta firms can adjust without a deploy. See Admin → Firm Pricing Configuration for how to update rates.

What’s next

Once the litigation file is built, the Settlement Calculator and Disbursement Statement take over for the close-out.
